As a full-time instructor with Florida Virtual School , Dawn Forrest stays busy at home caring for her two young sons in addition to teaching her English I FLVS students. Both are jobs that she loves. Mrs. Forrest says that teaching is a partnership between instructor and students in which both parties learn new things each day. When based on mutual respect, a productive learning environment creates numerous opportunities for feelings of success and accomplishment.

For the past 11 years, Mrs. Forrest has experienced success at many grade levels. Whether teaching Language Arts in middle school, 9th through 12th grade high school English, or Adult Education, she has found personal rewards in the successes of her students.

Mrs. Forrest believes that each student has a different way of learning. She also believes that effective teaching involves helping students recognize their learning styles as they become personally responsible for developing their individual talents. Last but not least, Mrs. Forrest is convinced that building connections with students and parents is the driving force for the kind of “team work” environment that promotes successful online learning.

Mrs. Forrest earned her Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from the University of South Florida .
