Christine Cunningham believes that there are both enjoyment and important lessons to be found in great literature. While still a student, she discovered the valuable insights contained in the pages of books. Today as a teacher, she helps her students find similar insights.
For the past ten years, Mrs. Cunningham has successfully related to her students by communicating both high expectations as well as an understanding of their challenges. She has taught all levels of high school English. She has also sought to help students struggling with reading comprehension by earning her Masters degree in Reading.
In addition to continuing her career in the traditional classroom, Mrs. Cunningham chose to interact with students as a Florida Virtual School faculty member. While working on her Masters degree and anticipating the arrival of her first child, Mrs. Cunningham discovered the convenience and flexibility of completing her degree online. At FLVS, she is pleased to work with students individually, relating the subject matter to each student’s life and interests.
In addition to raising her now three-year-old daughter, Mrs. Cunningham has made the commitment to pursue her National Board certification. Her goal is remain in the classroom, develop her teaching talents, and remain close to her students.
Mrs. Cunningham earned her Masters degree in Reading K-12 from Nova Southeastern University. Her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary English was awarded by the University of Southern Mississippi.
