FLVS Staff Profile

Christina Cox

The benefits of Christina Cox's Personal Fitness course are designed to last a lifetime. They include cardio-vascular conditioning, increased flexibility, and strategies for achieving proper weight. All achieved without diet pills, health club memberships, and expensive exercise equipment.

Ms. Cox's course does not promote fad diets or promise overnight results with little effort. Instead, it offers a roadmap for achieving personal goals through an individualized program of proper diet and exercise. And the entire process is based on medically and nutritionally sound knowledge.

In addition to teaching online with Florida Virtual School, Ms. Cox also teaches full time at Pedro Mendez High School in St. Augustine, Florida. At Pedro Mendez, she also coaches girls golf and fast-pitch softball.

By comparison to team sports, Ms. Cox believes that personal fitness is not about competition with others. Rather, it involves feeling good about being personally fit.

Ms. Cox also believes that the online environment provides her the opportunity to work individually with each of her students, guiding and motivating them on a weekly basis. She says that as her students achieve specific goals, their own self-motivation leads to additional successes.

Ms. Cox received her B.A. in Education - Secondary Physical Education from the University of North Florida where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Ms. Cox is a Personal Fitness Teacher at FLVS.
