Bridget Alford’s description of her classroom environment can also serve as a description of a successful business environment.   Like a great workplace, her classroom is a place where the ideas and contributions of individual students are valued.  It is also a place where collaboration and teamwork create higher levels of success.

Ms. Alford chose to become a business education teacher to help students prepare for the “real world” of work where polished skills are essential.  In class, she stresses both technology skills and people skills - the kinds of skills needed in the competitive, 21st century work environment.  Her teaching approach is marked by openness, flexibility and sincerity, creating an expectation that success belongs to everyone.

Having experienced online learning herself while pursuing her Masters degree, Ms. Alford is pleased to utilize the special advantages of this innovative form of instruction.  Her goal is to create an atmosphere in which the individual needs of students are met on a one-on-one basis.

Ms. Alford is a seven-year teaching veteran who also has experience in the workplace.  She has served as a mental health assistant and a medical billing specialist.  Her decision to enter the teaching field was motivated by a desire to offer students opportunities for developing their talents and achieving success.  The correctness of her career choice is evident in the numbers of her students who today are successful in college and in their careers.

Ms. Alford earned her Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from the University of West Florida.  She earned her Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Chipola College.
