Alexandra Langenes

Staff Support Assistant
Florida Virtual School

There are some things that are very important to Alex Langenes.  Close family ties, working as a member of a team, serving the educational needs of others, and supporting the staff of Florida Virtual School are all important values to which she has made a strong personal commitment.

As a Staff Support Assistant, Mrs. Langenes provides clerical assistance to the professional training team.  She prepares training materials, records re-certification points, and disseminates workshop information.  One notable way she keeps teachers informed about professional development opportunities is by means of her monthly FLVS Professional Learning Newsletter that she edits.  Using her background in newsletter creation, Mrs. Langenes creates a colorful source of useful information for teachers wanting to advance their careers and enhance their skills.

Mrs. Langenes began her educational career as a pre-school teacher for Trinity Lutheran School in Kissimmee, Florida.  After eight years in the classroom, she transferred to her school’s front office, working as an administrative assistance.  At Trinity, she began perfecting her publishing skills by creating a newsletter for parents.

Mrs. Langenes’ decision to join the FLVS staff was motivated in part by her desire to work with a dedicated team that is committed to a common goal.  She was also influenced by her sister who serves as on online teacher for FLVS-Global Services.
Mrs. Langenes earned her Associate of Arts degree in Child Development from Mid-Florida Tech.  She is married to her husband Scott.  Their son Kyle and the members of their extended family keep them connected to the things that really matter.
