National Board Certified Teacher Adam Zupkoff has combined several skills and interests into a highly successful career. While working as a manager in the business world, he recognized that the most rewarding aspect of the job was training others. So much so that he chose to become a full-time teacher.
“Full-time” is precisely what his teaching career has become. In addition to serving on the Florida Virtual School faculty, Mr. Zupkoff teaches at Dr. Phillips High School in Orange County, Florida. His classes include Accounting, Entrepreneurship, International Business and Business Systems Technology. He also teaches Technology for Educators at Lake Sumter Community College.
Mr. Zupkoff’s familiarity with online learning made joining FLVS a natural choice. For four years, he has taught business-related courses for the Orange County Virtual Center of the Orange County Public Schools Career and Technical Education Centers. As a student, he has taken several online courses while pursuing both his masters and doctoral degrees.
Regardless of the venue for his teaching, Mr. Zupkoff stresses the importance of listening to the specific needs of his students. His ability to meet those needs is equally matched by his ability to create innovative and engaging instructional projects. His teaching talent has been recognized on numerous occasions including his reception of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching Economics from the Florida Council on Economic Education, and his reception of a Darden Grant.
Mr. Zupkoff earned his Masters degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University. His Bachelors degree in Marketing and his Associates degrees in Accounting and Management were awarded by Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. Mr. Zupkoff is currently working on his Ph.D. in Instructional Technology and Distance Learning from Nova Southeastern University.
